Suzanne Beuker
Dr Suzanne Beuker – Consultant Urologist, Nelson, New Zealand
Dr Suzanne Beuker is an experienced urologist based in Nelson, providing expert care for a wide range of urological conditions including prostate, bladder, kidney and testicular cancers, urinary symptoms, kidney stones and scrotal problems. She is known for her patient-centred approach, taking time to listen, explain, and work closely with each patient to find the best treatment options for their individual needs.
She is a fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons, and trained throughout New Zealand, before undertaking a fellowship at the Churchill Hospital, Oxford, in 2006. She was an honorary lecturer at Oxford University during this time. She is also a member of the Urological Society of Australia and New Zealand.
Alongside her busy clinical practice, Dr Beuker has a post graduate diploma in Public Health and has enjoyed contributing to improving cancer care nationally. She was the Deputy Chair of the National Urological Cancer Working Group for Te Aho o Te Kahu (the Cancer Control Agency), where she helped guide national strategies for the diagnosis and treatment of urological cancers. She was also a member of the Cancer Clinical Assembly and has worked as a clinical advisor to the Ministry of Health.
Dr Beuker is general urologist, also working at Nelson Hospital, with a subspecialty interest in diagnostic urology and endoscopy. She is committed to providing up-to-date, evidence-based care, while supporting patients and their families through what can often be a very challenging time. With strong links to other urologists nationally she will always make sure her patients are supported if they need sub-specialist care in another centre.
