About the Opportunity
Join our team as a Registered Nurse predominantly in our Ward with scope to work in other areas such as Day Stay discharge and Central Admissions when cross cover is needed. This position ensures patients receive exceptional care throughout their surgical journey, working across the Surgical Ward and providing support for Pre and Post-Operative health care consumers. You will work alongside a supportive multidisciplinary team providing compassionate, professional, and high-quality care.
About You
You are a compassionate, professional Registered Nurse with a current Nursing Council of NZ registration and a practising certificate. You bring experience in post-operative and peri-operative care, with strong patient assessment, communication, and problem-solving skills. You are culturally sensitive, IT proficient, and thrive in a collaborative environment where teamwork and support matter. This permanent position offers 48 hours per fortnight with rostered rotating shifts, inclusive of some required nights.
About You
You are a compassionate, professional Registered Nurse with:
– Current Nursing Council of NZ registration and practising certificate
– Strong Pre‑Admission or pre‑operative assessment experience
– Excellent clinical judgement and patient assessment skills
– Effective communication within a multidisciplinary team and strong problem‑solving abilities
– Ability to work autonomously while contributing positively to team goals
– Cultural awareness and commitment to equitable care
– Strong confidence in using clinical IT systems
You take pride in preparing patients for surgery, supporting their journey, and coordinating care to ensure safe, efficient perioperative outcomes.
